Namaste, Bula, Kia Ora
I am Shelly, originally from the beautiful Islands of Fiji.
I have been a part of the Pukeko family since 2010 and am absolutely loving it. I started as a Pukeko at Pukeko Preschool Mangere East in the year 2010 and moved to Pukeko Preschool Papatoetoe in the year 2018. I look forward to keep working together with this amazing family of our tamariki, kaiakos and our whanau to constantly improve the quality of teaching and learning for our young Pukekos.
Our Learning Programmes
Nurturing development through play-based learning and Te Whāriki curriculum.

Infants & Toddlers Programme
Our gentle, responsive care approach creates a home-like environment where your youngest children can thrive. We focus on sensory play, exploration activities, and building strong emotional security through consistent, caring relationships with qualified educators who understand the importance of attachment in early development.

Preschool Programme
Our comprehensive preschool programme emphasises school readiness while maintaining the joy of childhood learning. Children engage in literacy and numeracy foundations, creative arts, music and movement, and nature-based learning experiences that prepare them for their transition to primary school.

Our Learning Environment
Our Papatoetoe centre features thoughtfully arranged learning spaces that maximise every opportunity for child engagement and development.
We've created distinct areas both indoors and outdoors that encourage exploration, creativity, and natural learning through play. Our educators use the environment as a 'third teacher', carefully setting up spaces and resources that invite children to investigate, discover, and learn at their own pace while building confidence and independence.
Nutrition & Meals
We provide nutritious morning and afternoon tea prepared fresh daily in our well-equipped kitchen, using quality ingredients to support children's health and development. Parents provide lunchboxes for their children, and we're happy to support families with healthy lunch ideas and suggestions. For inspiration and guidance on nutritious meal planning, please visit our nutrition page where you'll find helpful tips and recipes for creating balanced, appealing meals that children will love.
