Life Long Love
OUR KIDS CHILDCARE ONEHUNGA
Dynamic Kids has been an important part of the local Onehunga community for more than ten years. They have joined the Our Kids Family in November 2020.
Our Kids provides a beautiful early learning childcare environment inspired by the Reggio Emilia & RIE approach to teaching and learning. This is a positive, affirming childcare learning space that enables children to freely explore and lead their own learning, supporting them to blossom intellectually, physically, socially, and artistically. Our environment is considered an important teacher and has been set to intentionally encourage curiosity, and discovery, extending children’s dispositional learning.
QUALITY EDUCATION AND CARE FOR PRESCHOOL CHILDREN
Our Kids childcare centre in Onehunga aims to set the stage and ignite that initial piece of wonder and creativity in children, positively influencing their entire lives. By attending Our Kids, located at 208A Church St Onehunga, we envision that each child will have set their foundation and move into Primary School with great momentum, confidence, creativity, and capacity.
We create a home away from home for children in our early childhood educational community. We do this by building open and positive relationships with whanau (families). Our goal is to encourage collaboration, encompassing the diversity of our community. These warm, trusting, and loving partnerships form the backbone for children’s learning to support each child’s sense of mana whenua (belonging).
We believe that the arts and strong connections with papatuanuku (nature) set the stage for learning. These ideals ignite that initial piece of wonder and creativity in a child that positively influences their entire lives. Peaceful music is purposefully incorporated into the learning environment to support atheistic and cognitive development. We use the 100 languages of children to reinforce their own perspectives of the world around them and their place in it.
We foster the well-being of children through good nutrition and active movement to fuel children’s busy bodies and growing minds. We recognise Maori as the first people of Aotearoa. Te Ao Maori is woven into our daily practice.

Over 2s Head Teacher
I am a qualified Early Childhood Teacher. I completed my degree through Manukau Institute of Technology. I have a passion for early childhood education and have thoroughly enjoyed my 3 years of training. I previously worked in various customer service roles for 5 years and worked as a support worker for an year, until I decided to follow my passion for education. I believe that every child should be given every opportunity to grow into happy, healthy, confident individuals. I am very passionate about working with children and being part of their little world. I believe that there is a lot to learn from children itself and that is something I really love about this job. Working as a support worker previously, I have gained great knowledge and experience of working with children and adults with mental and physical disabilities which is has sparked deep interest in me to care for children with special needs.
I look forward to working closely with the children, parents/whanau of Our Kids.
