Life Long Love
The Glendene centre is located in a residential area close to Glendene Primary School – a quiet and peaceful location for children to learn, grow and develop naturally. The interior of the centre is a warm, comfortable environment conveying a sense of calm. Children’s art work, their photos and plants are used to decorate the place as children engage in various learning experiences in a relaxed and productive manner.
ALL DAY MIXED-AGED CHILDCARE
Our Kids Learning Centre is a small and homely all-day mixed aged centre providing quality care and education for children aged between 6 months and 5 years. Our teachers create respectful and caring relationships with the children while maintaining close relationships with their family/whānau. Teachers are also confident in supporting the development, well-being and belonging of children under two year olds. They engage in meaningful interactions with infants and toddlers and give enough space and possibilities for free movement.
INDOOR-OUTDOOR FLOW FOR LEARNING
The outside environment at Our Kids Glendene provides plenty of exploration zones including a large sandpit covered by a shade-sail, a beautiful stream fed by a rain-water pump, landscaped planting, vegetable garden, a whare area, a variety of outdoor equipment for physical exercise and challenge including swings, and a new large platform area with a slide.
The indoor-outdoor flow makes it easy for the children to move from one activity to another, to explore, be creative, work together, exercise and get close to nature and learn about the natural world. Teachers support the children’s learning by working closely alongside them, observing their play and responding meaningfully to their needs.

Kia ora koutau, my name is Sarah O’Regan and I graduated from The New Zealand Career College with a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) in early 2019, however I have been working here at Our Kids Early Learning Centre Glendene for over 5 years. From a very young age I have had a passion for working alongside young children, and my interest in pursuing this career was truly reinforced after the birth of my own two children.
I am extremely passionate about teaching within a mixed age setting as I strongly believe that the meaningful interactions between younger and older children provide many different social, cognitive, physical and emotional learning experiences, which can be particularly beneficial for children of both ages.
I also strongly believe it is fundamental to work in partnership with parents and whanau, acknowledging their cultural values, needs and aspirations, in order to achieve the best possible care and education for their children. My personal philosophy is based on love, kindness and compassion and I strive to provide a learning environment that allows children to feel safe, secure and loved, knowing that they are a valued member of the Our Kids Whanau.
Assistant Head Teacher
I graduated from Auckland University with a Bachelor of Education in Primary / Intermediate teaching. I absolutely love working with children of all ages and I believe in exploring and enhancing students’ curiosity and personal interests in safe and creative environments, where all voices, perspectives, interests, and values are acknowledged and celebrated, and where children can safely take risks, make mistakes, and learn from them.
To me, childcare is all about preparing children for encounters when they start school in terms of intrapersonal / interpersonal relationships, enthusiasm and curiosity towards learning. I am creative and have many passions and interests such as sports, social science, music, dance, drama, reading, art and writing. Oh, and I also love to socialise!
