Lead Our Kids Onehunga as our new Centre Manager

With our manager heading overseas, we’re excited to offer a rare chance to lead a purpose-built centre that truly puts people first.

Our Kids is a family-owned organisation (est. 2008) with five centres across Tāmaki Makaurau. Onehunga is licensed for 70 tamariki (18 U2/52 O2). Our programme is guided by Te Whāriki, with practice inspired by Reggio and RIE, and a firm commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Why this Role?

As Centre Manager at Onehunga, you’ll lead a people-first culture where kaiako are supported to deliver rich, child-led learning. You’ll steward quality and compliance, build strong whānau partnerships, and work with our Area Manager and Business Manager on resourcing, occupancy and centre goals.

What you’ll lead:

People leadership: Coach, mentor and grow kaiako; lead a purposeful Professional Growth Cycle.
Curriculum leadership: Embed Te Whāriki, inquiry and rich documentation; champion child-led learning.
Quality & compliance: Licensing, health & safety, policies and procedures, ERO readiness.
Whānau partnerships: Build trusted relationships that strengthen learning and community connection.
Centre performance: Staffing, rosters, resourcing and budgets; collaborate on occupancy and goals.

What you’ll bring:

ECE qualification + practising certificate: NZ-recognised, Full registration (Tūturu).
Proven leadership: Demonstrated experience leading in an ECE setting.
Pedagogy & compliance: Deep curriculum knowledge; confident with HR fundamentals and regulation.
Collaborative style: Culturally responsive, excellent communicator and relationship-builder
